The Jakarta National AIDS Commission (KPAP)'s Management and Services Division held a virtual Workshop on the Role of Media in Overcoming HIV/AIDS on Tuesday (11/16). It aims to formulate various efforts to overcome future challenges in the context of HIV/AIDS prevention.
There were speakers who filled the event, namely Beritajakarta.id Editor-in-Chief, Bima Agung who also serves as Head of Diskominfotik's Public Information Management Division; Public Communication Resources Division Head, Ika Meilani Untari; Lifestyle Akuratco Editor, Irma Fauzia; ME & Data Analyst, Social Media Campaign I Dare, Andry F Bobby; and Indonesia AIDS Coalition Executive Director, Aditya Wardhana.
Dinkes Targets Jakarta to Be Free of HIV/AIDS by 2030The basis of the program is Jakarta Bylaw number 5/2008 on HIV/AIDS Control, in which the Jakarta KPAP must coordinate to formulate strategies to reduce HIV/AIDS rates through increasing awareness by expanding promotional networks on prevention, examination and handling of people living with HIV and their families.
Bima Agung, Editor-in-Chief of Beritajakarta.id who is also Head of Public Information Management Division for Jakarta Communications, Information and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) on that occasion said, there were many interesting ways to disseminate information or events in the context of dealing with HIV/AIDS. One of them was beritajakarta.id.
He conveyed, there were many functions of the media, one of which was to change the behavior of media consumers.
"Then what does the Jakarta administration have? We have beritajakarta.id, which is a news media for information services to the public, especially Jakarta. It is under the Diskominfotik. In 2000, we were born in Jakarta based on the internet," he explained.
Beritajakarta.id, which this year has been accompanied by Beritajakarta TV and news videos, has and can create various rubrics and programs that can be used to disseminate information on HIV/AIDS prevention.
"First, there is news. We can turn information, events into news. Don't forget that news must be supported by photos that attract readers. Then there are news videos, nowadays people have mobile phones, smartphones, and so forth, it can also be used and developed for HIV/AIDS prevention," he furthered.
There was also Beritajakarta TV, which was no less interesting. There are various creative programs that are very likely to be utilized by Jakarta KPAP, for instance Petantang Petenteng Program, Ngobrol Tengah Hari (midday chat), etc. His party is ready to fully support KPAP in dealing with HIV/AIDS.
Meanwhile, as additional information, based on the SIHA (Ministry of Health) report from 2005 to June 2021, Jakarta was the biggest contributor to HIV from 5 provinces in Indonesia, namely 72,532 cases, followed by East Java with 66,903 cases, West Java with 48,320 cases, Central Java with 41,126 cases, and Papua 39,991 cases.
Of 72,532 cases in Jakarta, 8033 people with HIV (PLWHA) died. 64,499 people are still alive. The Health Ministry's estimate for 2021 states that the number of PLWHA in Jakarta is 65,916.
The administration has provided HIV/AIDS treatment services, including 192 testing services (132 hospitals, 45 community health centers/puskesmas, 7 clinics and 8 prisons/detention centers), 130 ARV services (73 hospitals, 45 community health centers, 5 clinics and 7 prisons/detention centers), 36 services Viral Load (30 TCM machines and 6 Abbott machines), 1 Early Infant Diagnosis or EID service (1 Referral Hospital, 36 community health centers), 98 active MMT services reporting, and the use of TLD line 1 ART regimens since 2020.
